I can't believe how long it has been since I last wrote. Okay so, I wrote about my childhood friends. I mentioned Vaughn Lee Davis. Now I will tell the rest of the story.
After I wrote that post, I couldn't quit thinking of Vaughn Lee. Every time I thought about him, I would cry. Finally after a few weeks, I realized that this was a sign from the Holy Spirit that I was supposed to try to find him. It was his birthday on October 26, and I had already googled his name a few days before and came up with nothing. So, finally, on his birthday, I said "Lord, you are going to have to help me find him. There is no way I know how to do this on my own." I joined a website where you can pay and have them search for you. They gave me two addresses and phone numbers and an email address. I tried everything, to no avail. Finally, I googled his name as Vaughn Davis, Salem Utah and up came an article on a website called Fouth Street Clinic. www.fourthstreetclinic.org/get-educated-2. This clinic provides medicines to the homeless and this article was about Vaughn Davis who had been homeless for four years. I called the number of the clinic, talked to the lady who answered. She called Vaughn Lee, left my phone number with him and within the hour he called me. He said, "Is this the same Joie Hanks that I grew up with?" I cried and talked to him for over an hour. We have had a couple of conversations since then. I am hoping at some point that he can come visit all of us.
God is so good. I told Vaughn Lee that there is no way I would have found him, if it hadn't been for the Lord's help. I don't know why the Lord wanted me to find him, but I am sure that it will become clear in the months ahead.
